Arne - President and co-owner
A 4th generation Alaskan, Arne has experienced the best the state has to offer. Growing
up between his family's home on Douglas island and their cabin on the Taku River, Arne
began fishing as soon as he could walk. Although he has fished from Costa Rica to
Australia, nothing can compare to fishing here in Alaska. After a short stint in the
“Lower 48” acquiring an Accounting degree in Oregon, he returned to pursue his love of
flying. The ability to land a plane on remote water and fish will never seem novel. With
over 17 years of bush plane piloting experience, Arne is at home in the air or on the water.
Holly - Vice President and co-owner
With roots as a “Buckeye”, Holly crossed the country in 1991 to experience college in
Alaska…and an Alaskan was born. After attending college in Sitka she was bit by the
travel bug and signed on as a Shore Excursion Manager for Holland America Line. 5
years, 2 World Cruises and 43 countries later the call of Alaska was too much to resist.
Holly returned to Southeast Alaska as the Vice President of
Marketing & Tours for Wings Airways & The Taku Glacier Lodge.

| Mark & Michelle Kaelke, founders & previous owners Bear Creek Outfitters was founded in 1995 by outdoor enthusiasts Mark & Michelle Kaelke. From its humble beginnings to the premier guiding service it is today,the Kaelkes created an unprecedented reputation within the fishing industry. Today Mark is the Southeast Alaska/Tongass Project Director for the Alaska office of Trout Unlimited. Michelle balances her time working with various non profit conservation organizations throughout the year and the planning of many family outings and adventures. The second generation of Kaelke’s is making their way through the rivers and streams of Southeast Alaska as well. Sisters Sophia and Emma began fishing with their parents from day one and now have become fishermen in their own right! |
